Reflections in Art
My artistic expression came as a surprise to me
At first a reluctant artist, I grew to love the mystery of the fluid of watercolor…full of symbolism, reflecting what was inside me and teaching me about my Self.
The corporate executive in me struggled with the Muses to make meaning in the creation.
The whimsical part of me splashed sparkles of gold and silver on each work to signify the Joy I feel.
I view Art as a conscious conversation between the Inner Self and the outer world…reflecting feelings, thoughts and spirit in the moment.
In the process of creating, I choose a point of perception that opens a pathway between the worlds and aspects that are logical and creative, seen and unseen, known and unknown…a pathway to a higher octave of awareness.
I am intrigued by the paradox, polarities and possibilities reflected in the fluidity of watercolor.
I marvel at the Beauty that seems to “just show up” to surprise and delight me.
My intention as an artist and author is to inspire an elegant engagement with Life from the Heart…consciously creating Harmony within.
The Angel
I finished the picture and everyone, including me, gasped when they saw her that day in class. It was clear she was divinely inspired – Beauty coming thru my sadness.
My Soul reminding me that “She” is always present even when I don’t know or feel it is possible.
A tiny bit of anger at my self, my Soul, God and the Universe for all the loss of loved ones – melts away.
Little by little, I can see things differently and feel the Light of Life in my Heart.

Slowly and gently I am painting my power, my center, my core and filling the empty space
It is symbolic
It is a beginning.
I am both the painter and that which is painted.
Both parts helping to explore wholeness.

My journey may have started as a story of finding balance –
the left and right brain,
the external and internal,
the doing and being,
the grief and joy,
the seen and unseen,
the frozen and flowing emotions and
the human and Spirit.
Later, it became my awareness beyond polarities –
to Source found in the Sacred Heart

Woman of the World
Another art class. I am so angry at my life, my Soul, God – you name it. This is not the life I had planned.
I am supposed to be in my office somewhere. Anywhere but here. My family should be alive.
I decide on liquid paint and just let it go. I don’t like the mess. It looks like one of those old maps of the world. I toss it aside to start something else.
My teacher comes over and says “What is this?” I reply curtly. “it is a map of the world, you know, here is Africa and India”
She looks at me like I am crazy and says “Look at it this way”
I am shocked to see the possibility of a dancing woman! Her face appears magically with a few strokes.
I have nothing to say. I am in awe and frightened at the same time.
I don’t know where this comes from or where it is going.
I don’t like the unknown.
Yet somehow this powerful energy feels friendly, a wave of possibility.
